Happy Anniversary Ben Challoner

“I am engaged, encouraged, I feel supported and have been given every opportunity to improve.”

Congratulations to Ben Challoner, Business Development Executive, on his first working anniversary at Fleet Service GB.

Here is what Ben had to say about his first year with us:

“One year with Fleet Service GB! After finishing sixth form and running my own landscaping business on the side to support my studies, I came across this role and was originally attracted to the co-ownership model offered By Fleet Service GB, something I had not seen before.

It really showcased the company’s attitude to working in partnership, and backed their core values to Engage, Encourage, Support, and Improve.

I secured an interview, and as I left the offices, I recall thinking “This is all too good to be true.” However, these values materialised and delivered way beyond my expectations during the past 12 months.

The culture across the business is to really listen, and understand you as a person and how you learn. For me, I learn best via action, so I spent some weeks in each part of the business to gain a full understanding of what we do, how we support and how we work in partnership with our clients. To enhance this knowledge, I am completing industry specific training courses, and I get incredible 1-1 weekly sessions and feedback, tapping into the experience of all senior members of the team. I regularly have conversations with the company chairman, managing director and other members of the board. It is a very open and accepting workplace.

The opportunities within the business are the greatest aspect for someone looking to build a career.

Fleet Service GB promotes and recruits internally, with every employee having a personal development programme set up from day one; lots of training and development to support staff who want to climb the ranks.

The organisational structure makes the atmosphere so welcoming. I am engaged, encouraged, I feel supported and have been given every opportunity to improve – which my managerial feedback is that I have!”
